Rotkohl is red cabbage simmered like a stew for a few hours with spices like cloves, garlic, cardamon, and cinnamon. It usually takes 6 hours. But here I've pickled it in the same solution it is simmered in. By the time I wanted to eat it I should be able to just add butter and red wine and cook it for about 1 hour. I hope it tastes like G-ma made it!
